Happening in NOLA – The Johnny Jackson Jr. Foundation, in partnership with the Desire Community Housing Corporation, is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated return of the Christmas Show & All Star Revue! This beloved New Orleans tradition will take place on December 7, 2024, at 8:00 PM at the Canal Street Sheraton New Orleans Hotel. Not only are we celebrating the spirit of the season but also giving back to the community by raising funds to buy Christmas gifts for needy children.
The Christmas Show & All Star Revue, originally founded by the late Councilman Johnny Jackson Jr. in the 1980s, has always been more than just a musical event; it's a community-driven effort to ensure that every child in New Orleans experiences the joy of Christmas. The funds raised from this event will go directly towards purchasing toys and gifts for children who might otherwise go without this holiday season.
The culmination of our efforts will be a heartwarming Toy Distribution event held on December 21, 2024, in the City Hall Council Chambers. This event will bring together city leaders, community members, and volunteers to distribute the collected gifts to families in need, spreading joy and ensuring a memorable holiday season for many.
This year's Christmas Show & All Star Revue promises an evening of spectacular performances, celebrating the rich musical heritage of New Orleans. We invite local talent to sign up and participate in this festive occasion, with rehearsals beginning in August. Participants will not only enjoy showcasing their talents but will also contribute to a noble cause that embodies the true spirit of giving.
